Post Doctoral and Visiting Scholar Positions
The AE&RFC Research Center at SUNY Polytechnic Institute is currently seeking highly motivated researchers for a postdoctoral and visiting scholar positions in the following areas.
Modeling, simulation, and experimentation of high-power wide bandgap semiconductors, such as GaN HEMTs, for radio frequency (RF) applications. The application of computational methods, such as Genetic Algorithms or AI techniques, for the extraction of large-signal active device model parameters is desired. The devices to be designed, modeled, and simulated will be used to develop high-power MMIC amplifier modules and sensors, or as standalone devices intended to operate in extreme environmental conditions. The position is expected to last for two years, with the possibility of renewal. (Accepting Applications)
Development and implementation of device models and sensors for THz electronic and photonic systems, as well as characterizing materials and devices in the THz frequency range. The position will require conducting experiments and simulations to evaluate the performance of THz materials and devices, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate modeling and characterization. The ideal candidate will have experience in THz systems, material characterization, and a strong interest in quantum technology applications. (Accepting Applications)
Research, modeling, simulation, and implementation of advanced reconfigurable intelligent systems (RIS), including both passive and novel active devices, as well as cutting-edge sensors, designed for next-generation 5G and 6G applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in 3D electromagnetic simulators, with experience and expertise in co-simulation techniques, combining microwave and high-frequency engineering principles for optimizing system performance. In addition to simulation skills, the candidate must have experience in measurement and experimentation and familiarity with measurement tools and instrumentation for high-frequency characterization. (Accepting Applications)
We are particularly interested in applicants with a proven track record in modeling, simulation, and testing of RF, Microwave, and THz devices and systems for high-frequency applications. Proficiency in computational methods, programming (Python, C++, Matlab), and hands-on experience in RF, Microwave, and THz Engineering, including the use of active and passive devices, are highly desired.
