The mission of the Applied Electromagnetics and RF Circuits (AERFC) Research Center is to conduct research in modeling, simulation, and prototyping of novel devices and sensors for 5G and 6G applications, using innovative methods including AI and ML techniques, while also contributing to outreach activities aimed at stimulating interest in STEM, with a focus on high-frequency applications.
The research at AERFC spans various areas, including antennas and RF systems for mobile and IoT devices, AI-based modeling of semiconductor wide-bandgap devices, Terahertz sensors and devices, RF energy harvesting, radar sensors, beamforming techniques for 5G systems, reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS), RF amplifier topologies, RF linearization methods, and AI-driven RF measurement and instrumentation techniques.Â
